The Judges: About

The Judging Panel

Hotshot Dance Competition has a panel of two or three industry professional judges at each heat. All with an extensive knowledge and background in a variety of styles of dance.

Each judge will have their own score sheets and an independent marker will calculate the scores. We offer a number of awards for the performers so that we can recognise everyone for their specialities, as well as trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

What We Look For

Each dance will be judged according to the following criteria:

• Technique

• Performance

• Choreography

• Musicality

The judges will mark all dances in accordance with their knowledge of the specific dance genre/technique. They will have good understanding of what is required from each style regarding technique, performance, content and musicality. They will take into consideration the other styles of dance in each section to keep results consistent.
