About Us
Hotshot Dance Competition is a refreshing and professional dance competition with an extremely high standard that provides a fantastic atmosphere and organised event.
Here at Hotshot Dance, we have a huge passion for the dance world and encourage elite training for the talented dancers of the future. We believe that all dancers should be rewarded for their commitment and dedication.
All entries will be provided with personal written feedback and individual scores from each judge. Hotshot believe in recognising gifted and talented dancers and studios, offering a huge variety of special awards and fantastic opportunities; as well as providing medals for all participants we provide certificates, medals and trophies for all dancers placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
All ages, styles of dance and group sizes are catered for, meaning there is something for everyone.Hotshot Dance Competition is a fantastic platform for dancers to perform in front of a lively audience and showcase their talent. What You Need To Know
Programmes
Your dance school photo and bio will be displayed in the programmes, alongside information on the judges, the hotshot team, the FULL running order and lots more information.
Programmes will be available to purchase on the day for £5.00
Spectators
Tickets can be purchased on the day or ordered online.
Details will be emailed out nearer your event.

Judging
Hotshot Dance Competition has a panel of two or three industry professional judges with extensive knowledge and background in a variety of styles of dance. Each judge will have their own score sheets and an independent marker will calculate the scores. We offer a number of awards for the performers so that we can recognise everyone for their specialities, as well as trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
What We Look For
Each dance will be judged according to the following criteria:
• Technique
• Performance
• Choreography
• Musicality
The judges will mark all dances in accordance with their knowledge of the specific dance genre/technique. They will have good understanding of what is required from each style regarding technique, performance, content and musicality.They will take into consideration the other styles of dance in each section to keep results consistent.

Medals for all dancers that place.
Trophies for all dances that place 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Please note that additional trophies are available to purchase for duos, trios and groups.

A Few Things To Note
Performers will need to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to dancing. Events can run up to 1 hour early.
Please check back at the reception desk as there will be a white board displayed to keep you informed as to whether we are running early or late throughout the day.
We will have separate award ceremonies throughout the day and therefore you can choose to go home after your award ceremony if you have finished dancing.
Dancers are welcome to watch in the auditorium if they are accompanied by an adult.
You are permitted to leave after you have performed and return back ready for the results. Please remember to check how early/late the event is running.
Dance schools will be allocated a dressing room backstage.
No parents will be permitted backstage unless you are allocated as a chaperone with a current DBS and Chaperone License. Named chaperones will be given one of our ID lanyards.
Spectators will not be allowed in and out of the theatre in the middle of a section; please refer to your running order in the programme and only leave or enter at the beginning of the next section. The host, Reiss, will continually announce throughout the day when there is a chance to enter and leave the theatre.
You are permitted to take photos and videos of your children dancing on the stage as all schools taking part have signed the photo & video consent form.
If any children/parents/teachers have any birthdays this weekend then please can you let either a member of our team know.
Our resident photographer will be taking live action shots of your dancers which will be available to purchase online after the competition.

Hotshot Choregraphy Challenge
We are thrilled to offer Hotshot Choreography Challenges during our competitions. Performers will be taught a short routine by a fantastic choreographer. They will then perform the routine in groups where a few dancers will be asked to dance again. Judges will then select a winner!
The dancers will be split into 3 age categories
Mini 8 and under
Junior 9 – 12
Senior 13+
The routines will be adapted to suit all ages and we will select 3 winners!
The style of the dance will be announced on the day or on social media during the week prior to the competition!
It will cost £5.00 per round and your ‘numbers’ can be purchased on the day.
Hotshot Improv Challenge
We would like to introduce the Hotshot Improv Challenge!
You will hear a piece of music and you will just improvise.
There will be a chance to practise all together then perform 4 lots of 8, one at a time!
Just like our Hotshot Choreography Challenge, you can purchase your numbers on the day for £5.00
Hotshot Cover Photo
We run the Hotshot Cover-Photo Competition for each heat that we hold.
If you are the lucky winner at any of our heats then you will receive complimentary dance action photos of you dancing in the competition and you will represent Hotshot.
If you would like to enter then please bring your favourite dance photo along to the competition with a £5.00 entrance fee. We recommend a dance action shot with a good face. Please hand them in with at our registration desk!
All photos will be displayed at the competition.
Terms & Conditions
•Payment of entry fees must be received within 14 days of invoice sent to secure your place in the competition.
• A deposit of £100 per 10 entries will be required to reserve your space within 14 days to secure your space.
• No refunds will be given.
• We reserve the right to cancel entries if the payment deadline date is not met.
• We reserve the right to combine any sections to make the competition more competitive if necessary.
• Anyone watching the performance must purchase a ticket.
• All music must be age appropriate with no explicit language.
• Hotshot Dance Competition will not be responsible for any injuries caused backstage, on stage or in any part of the venue.
• Hotshot Dance Competition will not be responsible for any theft, loss or damage to personal items whilst at the venue.
• All participating dance schools must have their own Public Liability Insurance.
• All schools will need to fill out the relevant forms and send back prior to the event.
• Duos/Trios age is categorised by average age.
• Group age categories are organised by average age.
• You must notify Hotshot Dance Competition prior to the competition if props will be used.
• The judge’s choice is final.
• All children under the age of 16 must be chaperoned by a registered chaperone with a DBS no older than 3 years.
• Hotshot Dance Competition have the right to disqualify any dancers who are not dancing in the right age category.
• Hotshot may need to limit your dance entries if an event is extremely popular.
•We reserve the right to cancel any event if necessary.
•Dancers cannot compete with 2 different schools that may have a conflict of interest within the same season.
